Powers
[snake physiology] quinn’s physical attributes are somewhat different from a normal human’s and instead mirror that more of a snake if it were grown to be about the same size as a human. for starters, quinn possess a set of snake-like fangs that are capable of piercing through tough skin. in tandem with that, quinn’s jaw is slightly more elasticated than that of normal which allows for her to open her mouth that bit wider to bite down with more power. when it comes to physical strength, quinn is capable of lifting anything from one to three tonnes without a problem; anything above would prove troublesome or impossible. her skin is also much tougher, like snakeskin, but this doesn’t make it impenetrable, just tougher and less prone to bruising. along quinn’s spine she has many more vertebrae than you would find in most humans. normal people have roughly about 33 vertebrae along their spine, whereas quinn has somewhere between 200 to 400 vertebrae. as a result of this, it means that quinn is far more flexible than others, and capable of swifter, agile movements that otherwise may hurt a person from the way in which the body bends and contorts. with this improvement to flexibility, and an allowance for more agile movement comes a more heightened set of reflexes. quinn is in a better position to dodge and avoid attacks, and it is mostly down to her flexibility than she can do this.

  • seismic sense: like with a snake, from positioning herself low to the ground quinn is able to sense vibrations in the earth and within a 100ft radius can accurately sense any movements.
  • seductive magnetism: naturally quinn releases pheromones, like an aura of attractiveness in the immediate area around her that induces pleasure and desire, to subtly lift inhibitions. those affected by this aura remain fully themselves and in control, but want to earn her favor and affection, and also hesitate towards causing her harm. it does not affect those outside her immediate range and the effect will wear off shortly after exiting that range. smell dampening gear also negates the effect.


[toxigenesis] quinn is able to generate a wide and varied number of different poisons, toxins and venomous substances in a multitude of ways to cripple an opponent. it all stems from her own bloodstream that is made up of numerous toxic substances that allow for her to produce these harmful effects. there are a number of ways in which a poisonous effect may be passed on to a target. it could be through the target inhaling toxic fumes, through quinn piercing an opponent’s skin through biting or scratching, or even through lip contact by way of a kiss - even a good ol’ fashioned spit will do the trick. as a result of Quinn’s bloodstream containing a variety of toxic substances; she herself is immune to all toxins, poisons and venomous substances.

some of the effects that these poisons, toxins and so forth may produce are as follows; severe double vision, deliriousness, fainting, paralysis, numbing of senses, drowsiness, exhaustion, burning sensation, muscle spasms, comatose, destroying tissue, rotting bone, death, inducing pain, hallucinations, disabling regeneration, as well as tricking the thalamus into making the target feel pain when there isn’t any.

(note: any fatal effects will only occur if the role-player of the character effected grants permission first, and will be able to negotiate what it is and the duration of the effect.)

[guild training] quinn has the pedigree of being trained since she was a child by one of history's most notorious assassin guilds. discipline was taught to quinn through the tutelage of several martial arts disciplines and with such experience has come a mastery. she's a quick and agile fighter, relying more on movement than power to gain an upper-hand.

  • combining both her knowledge of martial art disciplines along with her quicknessand flexibility; her abilities with stealth are rather remarkable. she has learned intrinsically about the art; how to shift her body-weight correctly, how to alter her steps accordingly and so on. she is very capable of disappearing into her surroundings at a moments notice and you might not notice her again until she wants you to.
  • she has also been trained to traverse various differing terrain when necessary for stealth or otherwise, and fortunately her biology lends it self well to this. quinn is able to crawl across ceilings, along walls and other similar surfaces with ease.

  • due to her being cold-blooded quinn becomes incredibly sluggish in her movement when put in a cold environment.
  • her blood pressure needs to remain low for her to be able to create the more potent and fatal poisons/toxins etc.
  • she doesn't perceive colors as prominently as the average human does.
  • wishes she was taller?


Mental Weaknesses

  • having been abandoned several times over the course of her life already, there are several underlying abandonment issues that weigh on her mind when making decisions or interacting with others.
  • quinn is incredibly impulsive and doesn't tend to follow a set path or plan even when instructed to. it makes her rash in decision-making, and easily able to fall into a streak of recklessness.
  • quinn is far too stubborn for her own good, and needs others to pull her away from a situation before her stubbornness leads her to a fatal end.
  • very vengeful.

Personality
Quinn tends to operate in a way that can only be described as cruel. Even since her first time, claiming another person’s life as just a teenager; Quinn has never felt any guilt or remorse for her actions. In fact, Quinn tends to take great pleasure in what she does, comfortable with knowing that she has caused an insurmountable amount of pain, misery and anguish to others as a result of all the people that she has killed. But it goes a step further than being fond of causing suffering to others. Gradually over time, and with growing confidence in her abilities; Quinn has started to have a little more fun with what she does, and become a little more creative. It’s important to further expand your horizons, and this is the way Quinn does it, dreaming up more sick and twisted ways to see anguish upon another person’s face. With this, comes a sense of confidence and arrogance, as she carries herself with a bit of swagger as she goes about what she does. It’s important to have fun.

But Quinn’s personality does adapt to the company she keeps. Whilst she was in the presence of the Guild (and Tiberius in particular), Quinn typically sported a more reserved, yet calm demeanor. She remains quiet, only speaking when spoken to and always carried a high level of respect for all of her fellow guild-mates. Quinn is loyal and was respectful, she followed Tiberius’s orders (but maybe not to the finest detail as he had hoped). She used to never ever dream of speaking out against the Guild, and even if Quinn didn't feel particularly strongly about something, she’ll bite her tongue and accept the Guild’s stance. For it is within the Guild, that Quinn found a group that she regards as being family, and therefore did everything in her power to appease them as best she can - which made being abandoned by the Guild hurt that bit more - but lets not get bogged down in those issues... seriously, I insist.

It’s in the company of friends where Quinn doesn’t have to take up the role of a killer, and therefore she can appear to be much more human. Quinn can be very playful once she gets to know someone, and has a witty side to her as well; very good at dishing out ‘burns’ and sly remarks, as well as take them. An open minded, and curious individual. However, Quinn is also someone who absolutely loves confrontation. There is something about being clear, direct and brutally honest to someone, without a care of how they feel about it that is just so… fun. She actually likes people who have a more direct approach about things, people like that are usually the most honest and trustworthy. Whilst manipulation can be a big part of being an assassin, Quinn straight up dislikes anyone trying to play mind games with her. If she notices you doing this, you’ll surely know about it – her ring-blade is never far away.

It is worth noting as well, that Quinn has a bit of a difficult time accepting defeat. Defeat typically leads to her throwing some sort of a tantrum, retreating into herself and brooding for a while. It stems from her competitive nature, which was her drive within the Guild to be the best. In her eyes, being labelled a loser is unacceptable, and she will go to any lengths to prove otherwise.

History
quinn was born with her life already decided for her. her parents tried to change that fact, fleeing the guild to raise their daughter in a small nepal village. but there was no means to escape the reach of the guild. she was brought into the guild ranks when she was only a five years old, and told her parents had abandoned her when in actual fact they had been slaughtered. from then until she was a young adult, quinn was taught and trained to be an assassin. another weapon in the guild's already large arsenal.

quinn was assigned onto the first incarnation of HIVE - recruiting several of its members - and to be the inner eyes and ears of the guild. but somewhere along the line her allegiance shifted away from the guild. she vanished from HIVE - presumed dead as the guild took her back to 'reset' her allegiance. fortunately enough quinn was able to escape with the assistance of the woman that had raised her from childhood.

quinn returned to HIVE towards the end of the zydon war - which coincided with her ties to the guild being severed indefinitely. with such a big influence in her life gone, quinn was left with no clue what to do with herself. she was convinced to remain with HIVE; to be the thorn in pix's side should his leadership ever get out of hand.

in an incident involving HIVE at the jump city jail, quinn paid for the success of HIVE with her own well being. in order to save her life, HIVE handed her over to caesar for emergency surgery. she lived but caesar lied to HIVE and claimed she was dead, and so she was left with caesar so that he could do research on her snake physiology. not believing caesar, nina broke into caesar's laboratory and rescued quinn. but in her deliriousness, quinn fled from nina too and hasn't been seen since.

To replace poisons as a human weakness, since she has snake physiology maybe making extreme cold extra bad for her would make sense. Cold blooded, etc.
