Workin' It Out

Let me just start this out with a little story. Ever since a few years ago, I have been constantly striving to be a better person. And I'd say I've been met with fair success; none of you could ever guess how horrible the old Kyte was. And if you're lucky, you'll never convince me to tell the story.

I'm a new man with each and every passing day. I've been working through my issues, and I've put this one off for long enough.

My weight.

Yes, yes, dreadful topic, I know. But let's face the ugly truth; most people that spend as much time on the internet as we do aren't really watching it (Not to speak for any of you, of course).

I don't know what a decent weight for a six foot man is. I tried getting Kyte as close to my weight as possible, which, when I last checked, was 180 lbs. And I was shocked when people told me 180 lbs was overweight for a six foot tall muscular man.

So imagine my horror when I see an available weight scale for the first time in years...and find out I am just over 250 lbs.

The knowledge has put me in a dark place and made me drastically reconsider my future, so I've decided to start exercising immediately. Every time I can check my weight I will post my progress here, but the reason I put this thread here is so that others can do it with me.

I know putting yourself on the spot is asking a lot, but it would help encourage me, and possibly others to start addressing this concern. Pictures are unnecessary, but it is also a good, solid way to check out your progress.

So do I have any takers?

Well, you already know I'm with you, we've talked this over before... So, yes!

I have been thinking about exercising a lot lately, but have never had the motivation to get off my lazy butt and actually do something. Now I do. I sincerely hope you guys try to keep those of us who are trying to lose a few pounds, or simply tone up, accountable. A check up every now and then goes a really long way!

Now, to my dreadful part... I will be keeping track of a few measurements along with my weight here, so, I'm sorry...

Weight: 152 lbs
Bust: 39 in
Waist: 33.5 in
Hips: 42 in
One thigh: 26 in

So I saw that this thread has been quiet and decided to ask; hows everybody coming along? Are you keeping your commitments? Do you need encouragement? Bow said to keep ya accountable so that's what I'm trying to do. ^^

I've been keeping to it, but I have no way of tracking progress yet. Are you participating?

In response to your question Kyte; no I am not participating...yet. I probably should be though.

I'm 5'11" and weigh 133 lbs. I don't really need to lose any pounds, but I would like to build up some upper body strength. I would like to be able to lift myself up onto a platform without using my legs for any help; just my arms and upper body. We have a chin-up bar in our house, but I'm really bad at these kind of long-term commitments.  

Why must you have listened and tried to keep me accountable Kardus!? >.<

I've had a few hiccups, but I finally have found something that I think works for me... So we shall see where it gets me!

So, I don't feel like keeping track of my weight because... I don't think it's an accurate display...

It's a slow process, but I'm just glad I'm sticking to my program...

Can I totally join in on this? I've wanted to lose weight since before freshman year but I never really had motivation for it. This looks really promising.
