Night vision with a new view (Crazy Moon)

Haruhi saw the man land in the water and looked over the docks to see if the guy was okay. Seeing the man's head emerge from the water surface. She saw Red Hood give a mocking wave goodbye, and give chase to the gang leader. Haruhi wasn't going to let him get away without a good explanation of what just happened here. She knew she had more speed than Mr. Pacific, so with that she turned to her leader and gave him a glance telling him she was going to follow him. Not really waiting for a response she ran after Red Hood. But once she turned the corner to some huge metal crates, she halted abruptly. She froze staring on horrified as a gun was pointed directly at her in the face.

Okay, this guy had to be stopped. He was using excessive and unnecessary force. He would have to explain why he had just killed several people.

Haruhi was faster, it would be better if she followed Red Hood. Pacific jumped into the water to save the man struggling to reach the dock. Upon reaching the gangster, Pacific pulled out his nun-chuck and hit the man across the face. He wasn't about to get pulled underwater by a large, violent man.

Swimming back to shore, Pacific gently put the unconscious gang member back on dry ground. He turned to see Haruhi at gunpoint. He was too far away to do anything.

"Haruhi!"

Haruhi stumbles backwards and then falls on her rear, at the same time throwing her arms up in protection across her face, wincing, her cat ears laid back against her head, at the sound of the super loud gunshot. She looks up to see the gang man lay motionless, dead. She looks up at Red Hood to see him take off his mask and stare at her with anger in his eyes. Tears started to form in her eyes but she held them back, scared of thinking how close the trigger was of being pulled, just inches away.

"He's dead, he tried to kill me...i know, but he's dead." She said softly. This was the first time as being a hero of coming so close to death and witnessing a death in front of her. Of coarse she had seen dead people before but this felt different.

She looked back up at Red Hood but couldn't answer him.

Pacific ran up to where Haruhi and Red Hood were standing. He saw that the man in between them was dead. Pacific put a hand on Haruhi's shoulder.

This was quite the situation. Pacific had been about to ridicule the stranger for killing, but he had just saved Haruhi's life. The guy in the red mask could easily become angry about having to protect them. Delicacy was needed.

"Thank you for saving her." It was a start. Hopefully, it would soften this stranger up a bit. Pacific had seen him fight. He was tough and he didn't mind killing. The risk of a direct confrontation was high.

"We wondered if anyone needed help. You seem to be able to handle yourself quite well. Why would they try to jump you?"

The question was bait. Hopefully, they would discover exactly what had gone on here.

Haruhi took Red Hood's hand and got up, wiping the tears at the same time. She was still a bit shaky but she still managed to stand and looked back at her leader.
Then Red Hood asked if they had heard about the venom drug. This drew Haruhi's attention back to Red Hood.

"Y-yes, we had a mission to stop a delivery of the drug before."

"We are unharmed, yes."

The Venom drug? What did Red Hood know about it?

"We've been looking into the Venom drug problem for some time now. We've stopped a few shipments here and there. However, I thought it was only a problem in Jump City. Are you saying that these gangs were buying Venom?"

Even if that was the case, it wouldn't excuse Red Hood for killing anyone.

Pacific sighed. This man had his own reasons for what he did. Pacific couldn't say that he was evil, but he was still far too violent towards these gang members.

"I will call the ambulance," he said. "Hopefully, after these men have healed, they can change their lives around." It was implied that those who had died would not have that chance. As much as Pacific didn't like what the Red Hood was doing, this wasn't his city. Jump was his current responsibility. Starting a needless fight now would not help anything.

After calling the ambulance and watching Red Hood disappear into the night, Pacific held Haruhi by the shoulders. He could tell that she was in shock. Seeing death was not an easy thing. In fact, the only reason Pacific was still functioning was because Haruhi needed him to.

He couldn't be Linus right now. He had to be Mr. Pacific. And Pacific was always there for his teammates.

"It's going to be okay, Haruhi. Let's go home."

Pacific thought about Red Hood's offer. It would be nice to improve his martial arts. He was by no means an expert fighter. He usually tried to find a non-violent solution.

But then there were times like this one. He had been unable to protect Haruhi. He couldn't have beaten Red Hood if he had needed to. Even if Red Hood was a monster, he might still have things to teach to Pacific.

Pacific leaned in close to Haruhi. "I'm going to take him up on his offer. Maybe I can make him a little less violent. Who knows? But you don't have to train with him if you don't want to. I have a place for you to stay the night and a ride back to Jump City. You may take them if you wish."

Haruhi stood up with the help of Mr. Pacific, she looked up to see Jason walking towards them. He made an offer of helping them, she thought about it and wondered if she should take it or not. Mr pacific offered her a place to stay and a ride back to town.

"No, I want to stay." she said, her confidence returning again. Even though being a hero had been going well in Jump city, she still needed training. "I want to train too."
She glanced down at the ground, "Thank you for saving me."

Haruhi wanted to train, too. Pacific hoped that she was being honest. She had seemed quite shaken before. In the end, he had to trust his teammates to take care of themselves.

Pacific followed Red Hood. He wondered what Steel City had in store for them.
