| The sun was setting in Jump City. People were putting lights on the spend the night with their friends, family, or on their own. One of those unfortunate last was Emblem, who was sitting on a big rock, near the sea. there was nothing between him and the ocean, and then, the setting sun. Emblem was quite at peace now. It was a great evening, it wasn't cold and wasn't too hot either, it was just right. Thinking about a lot of things at the same time, Emblem could not forget about a few things, but the thing he missed most, was the feeling he would almost die for...love.
He was capable to love others, but either his powers drove them away in fear of the unknown, or destiny decided to spin the wheel, killing his beloved in the spin.
...He didn't even had the chance to bury her body...Emblem: She loved water. She loved the seas. And yet, she loved me too, a guy who liked the flame . She teached me about the Way of the Water, but I was too impulsive, and she didn't even reject me...She never doubted my heart or my mind. Never..Emblem felt tears coming down his face. In those years, he never once would think back like he did now. And where he was right now, sitting on a rock next to the sea, made it even worse. He always said real men didn't cry near their friends, but he never thought he would ever cry again. He felt hatred for his own being deep down inside, but there was some nourishment in the fact that this proved he was still human. He had his feeling, they were his most important possession.
Emblem stood up, and before he knew it, he started moving like the Way of the Water-style so often did. It was all in the smooth movement, and in that, controlling the water. In minutes, thinking about his old girlfriend, Emblem wasn't able to control the water, except from the teardrops in his eyes. He stopped and stood still for a second, and looked up. Stars were slowly showing, illuminating the sky after the sun set. Emblem thought about the happy times, and how he happy he felt. He would almost die to feel like that again. No pain, no fear, no problem. Recovering his heart with this thoughts, Emblem regained a calmer composure, which was needed to control water. He thought how she loved it where he to try and form the water into different shapes. Emblem started moving and moving, and slowly, the water moved with him. The more balanced he felt, the more he was able to bend the water to his will. He never mastered it before, he wasn't as calm as a wave, unlike his girlfriend. She was the sincere calm one, and he was the energy, the impulsive one, the fire.
Emblem knew he could cast water spells, but in his eyes, they were insignificant to fire spells. However, combined and executed just right, they could be devastating. Once fighting a horde of thieves with just his girlfriend, Emblem and herself combined forces and drove them off with a lot of pressure, steam, smoke and reactions of cold and hot. Metal would break, stone would crack, there was nothing that could stop them...
Emblem felt tears coming up again, but this times, it were tears of joy. And in one fell movement, Emblem forced all the water to come up, and form his fianceé's favorite form..a majestic water dragon. Emblem finally mastered the craft, and if he was balanced, he knew her hands and will would guide him, where ever she was. She was watching over him all this time. He knew she would scold him for letting his head down some times. She wouldn't even be mad at him attacking Grim, she knew he did that in loving memory of her.
Emblem looked up, and almost thought he saw his girlfriend in the stars...And then, a star fell.
Emblem smiled. _________________ ''If a problem is a lock, then you just need to find the key. Finding it can be difficult if you don't know where to look or don't know how to look'' ~ Emblem Trailblazer
